Janus was the Roman god of gateways. He was said to be two faced, to represent the idea that a doorway is both an entrance and an exit. That January, the month named for him, was both the beginning of a new year, and the end of the old one.
And so it is with me.
[Note on pronunciation: Djaan is pronounced like the name "John". If you can get a "d" sound at the beginning without adding an extra syllable, all the better, but "John" is close enough. Bah'dur is pronounced like "bah-door". Das is pronounced like "dahss", that's with the -a- from "father" and not the -a- from "cat". For most names, please keep in mind I've taken way too many foreign languages, so if you are looking for probable ways to pronounce other characters names, look to Latin, not English for the phonetics. For instance, Djaan Nikku, another character, is prounced like "Neekoo" not "Nick-oo".].
